Hello! I hope all is well in your world. I’m Kris Jamieson, Virtual Assistant & Owner of Resourcefully Yours. Now, after I say that, you might be wondering what a Virtual Assistant (VA) is, or what I do, or maybe even how a VA might be a benefit to you in your business. I can help you there. I’d like to tell you about it, because I love what I do.

Let’s start with some of the more common questions & answers about Virtual Assistance:

What is Virtual Assistance, Anyway? The term “Virtual Assistant” has been used by many people to mean a variety of different things. The definition I like most is the one used by Assist University, the nation's leading Virtual Assistant Training and Referral service (and where yours truly received her VA training). That definition is: "A VA is a highly-trained and skilled professional who, as a support and growth partner to entrepreneurs, business owners and busy people, provides high-level, long-term, collaborative administrative and personal assistance without having to be physically present in the client's office." Most VAs are business owners, and have worked in high-level positions in the past. Some specialize in areas like: marketing, accounting, legal, medical, non-profit, etc. We assist our clients by use of the internet, phone, fax and email. In this day & age of technology, there is almost no office task that can’t be handled virtually.

How Do I Know If a VA Would be Helpful to Me? Working with a VA may or may not be the right thing for you and your business. What I can tell you is that by working with a VA, you will:

• Save time: As your business grows, it will be impossible to do it all yourself. By working with a VA, you can hand off the tasks that you no longer have time for. This will free you up to handle the tasks you didn't have time to deal with before. You now have time to grow your business, spend time with family, or time to just "be".
• Save money: Because a VA is an independent contractor, you won't have the costs you would incur with an employee: taxes, insurance, office space and equipment. You only pay for the time spent on your projects - not unproductive time like lunches and breaks.
